Strategy games and SubGenres
Strategy video games are a type of video game that emphasizes deductive reasoning and strategy in order to win. A player must specifically prepare a set of operations against one or more opponents, with the decrease of opposing troops being a common aim. Victory is attained via greater strategy, with luck playing a lesser part. Most strategy video games give the player a godlike vision of the game world and give them indirect power over the game forces under their command. As a result, most strategy games incorporate a mix of tactical and strategic concerns and include aspects of combat to varied degrees. These games frequently test the player's ability to explore or run an economy in addition to fighting.
Sub-Genres
4x
4X games are a type of strategy video game in which players must "explore, grow, exploit, and annihilate" an empire. Alan Emrich created the phrase in his Computer Gaming World preview of Master of Orion in September 1993. Others have used the phrase to describe games with comparable scope and design since then.
The rich, complicated gameplay of 4X games is well-known. Economic and technical progress, as well as a variety of non-military avenues to domination, are emphasized. Many 4X games also fall under the grand strategy genre. Because the amount of micromanagement required to maintain an empire rises as the empire develops, games can take a long time to complete. 4x games online had become popular with titles like Bit Planets released in the market.
Moba
MOBAs are strategic video games in which each player controls a single character with a set of distinct skills that progress over the course of the game and contribute to the team's overall strategy. The goal of the game is for players to work together as a team to reach a win condition, which is to destroy the enemy team's primary structure while defending their own. Computer-controlled forces help player characters, who are usually referred to as "heroes" or "champions," when they spawn in groups and march forward along specified courses (called "lanes") toward their enemy's base. To prevent this, defensive structures, mainly mechanical "towers," are in place.
AutoChess
Auto battler, often known as Auto Chess, is a strategy game with chess-like characteristics in which players prepare their characters on a grid-shaped battlefield before fighting the opposing team's characters without any further direct input from the user. It was popularized by Dota Auto Chess in early 2019, and several games of the genre were released shortly after, including Teamfight Tactics, Dota Underlords, and Hearthstone Battlegrounds.
